What is TCM Acupuncture?
TCM Acupuncture is based on Meridian theory and the theory of Qi and Blood. Meridians are symmetrical streets that are crossing our body, transporting Qi (energy) and Blood (nutrition) through our body. If this transport of energy and nutrients is not balanced, uneven, stagnant or deficient health imbalances result. With fine needles we can stimulate acupuncture points along those meridians to restore balance to the flow of Qi and Blood and restore health.
What is TCM Acupuncture?
TCM Acupuncture is helpful for relieving pain related to soft tissue and MSK issues. Many people deal with chronic pain issues like back pain, sciatica, neck pain, headache and migraine, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow and joint pain. Likewise, after an acute trauma, it is useful to administer acupuncture points for trauma right away and then work to improve recovery with a series of regular acupuncture treatments. Local and non-local points can treat your pain
Unlike dry-needling, or trigger point techniques with needles, which treat only local points in the problem areas, TCM Acupuncture is rooted in classical TCM theory based on the Meridians which pass through the whole body. TCM acupuncture can treat areas which are too inflamed to be treated locally, with distal points. Needling of points along the Meridians can treat both the local area and internal organs or body areas far away from the acupuncture point. Therefore, as a positive side effect, it is very common that after having had acupuncture for various pain issues, clients often report better sleep, less anxiety, a more positive mood and better energy after acupuncture treatments.Manage chronic disease and psychological conditions
TCM acupuncture has been successful in treating psychological issues such as anxiety, depression, insomnia and addictions and has also helped with memory, focus and attention. It has been successful in treating digestive issues such as IBS, GERD, bloating and abdominal/ epigastric pain and it helps in weight management. TCM Acupuncture can help in managing diabetes, heart issues, neurodegenerative diseases, immune deficiency (chronic and acute), autoimmune issues, skin diseases and gynecological concerns such as dysmenorrhea.Regain balance in your body and mind
Like homeopathy, TCM Acupuncture is an energy medicine. By regulating and balancing the flow of Qi and Blood throughout the Meridians, TCM Acupuncture balances the Meridians and thus the inner organs of the body from an energetic point of view. TCM Acupuncture diagnoses the patient in a highly individualized way. The goal of this individualized diagnosis is to find and treat the root cause of the imbalance.
For example, Chinese medicine diagnoses your balance between yin and yang and your unique ratio of excess or deficient symptoms in particular body areas. It also determines your unique balance of hot and cold as well as the mix of external or internal causes specific to your disease.
These four areas of balance are differently expressed from one patient to the next, even though they may have similar symptoms.
What can TCM do for you?
What can TCM do for you?
Dr. Ute uses acupuncture for pain relief, stress, anxiety and chronic disease using an integrated body-mind approach, within Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). You can heal your body and mind and renew your life with a combination of acupuncture, herbal formulas, nutrition and lifestyle.
Mind and Body Healing
True healing is always the result of a good partnership between patient and practitioner. The practitioner’s role is helping the patient find their unique way of healing. Whether disease is expressed more in physical or emotional symptoms, according to TCM, healing always needs an integrated approach including all four dimensions of the being: mind, body, emotions and spirit. In order to take care for all those dimensions, Dr. Ute use case specific acupuncture styles and approaches, such as Dr. Tan mirror imaging, Master Tung points, needle less acupuncture, ear acupuncture, scalp acupuncture and belly acupuncture as well as special treatments for trauma and balancing emotional issues.
Treat the cause, not the symptom
With TCM, pain related to acute soft tissue injuries and chronic MSK pain is treated but also the underlying causes and weaknesses, such as issues in the digestive system, immune system, cardiovascular system and hormonal imbalances. TCM has a high success rate treating psychological issues such as stress, insomnia, anxiety and depression, and improving memory and focus. In a comprehensive treatment method Dr. Ute looks at balancing nutritional and lifestyle factors that can support the acupuncture treatments.
Acupuncture can be complemented with targeted and individualized selections of Chinese herbs or customized Chinese herbal formulas. As a DTCM Dr. Ute can match acupuncture treatment with an appropriate herbal profile. This is particularly useful for chronic conditions that have led to internal deficiencies and depletion of nutrients and energy.

Benefits and what to expect after TCM Acupuncture
Even if clients come for pain issues, very often they feel immediately energized, sleep better and can deal better with daily stresses after their acupuncture session. Many clients who come regularly to deal with pain issues, also report improvement with internal conditions e.g. digestive, hormonal or emotional issues get balanced and often they can reduce medications. Acupuncture works well in synergy with chiropractic adjustments. Doing chiropractic care along with regular acupuncture does help keep adjustments better in place as the body gains the inner resources to stay adjusted.
